If you have read my blog, you have likely seen a common theme throughout—that of anxiety and reliance on God. For years I have dealt with emotional struggles and I have had to rely on God’s Word to power me through the trials in life. Even when God felt so distant, or I doubted His love, His Word still rang true in my heart. There have been so many times that I’ve wanted to just quit everything I love, lay down and never leave my bed, but thankfully, God is pretty great at wooing me and gently leading me back to Him. Even during the times I couldn’t bring myself to open my Bible, the Holy Spirit would bring Scripture to mind to uplift me. God’s love story in the Bible is truly the greatest gift for restless hearts like mine.

I don’t know where you are in life or what your walk with the Lord looks like, but I do know that His Word is for everyone. His Spirit can speak to individual hearts through Scripture.  That is part of the beauty of it—whether you are struggling with anything or if life is going well at this time, the Bible is still applicable and can impact you during every season of life. If you haven’t opened a Bible in a while, I encourage you to go do it RIGHT NOW. You won’t be disappointed.

Here are a few of my favorite verses. I hope they bring you encouragement today.

Isaiah 66:13

As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Romans 8:31

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38-39

The Lord is my light and salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

Psalm 30:5

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:34

1 Peter 1:3-6

Praise be to the God and Father or our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.

Isaiah 41:10-11
